PETA & SOPA

A couple stories I found in the news. PETA is going after Mario (Yes, the video game character) becuase they feel his new suit/power promotes the wearing of fur.

PETA slams Mario over use of a fur suit

The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act are hitting Congress this week. Many popular websites like Facebook, Mozilla, and Google are protesting the bill and are urging users to fill out petitions to send to their local representatives.

Remediation Rubric

As someone kindly reminded me, I forgot to create a rubric with you all. Here is the rubric I tend to use. Please feel free to make suggestions that I will consider; otherwise, this is what I will use to assess your projects. Short and simple. To get help with your memo look on the assignment prompt where there is a list of exactly what you need to include in your memo.

Wired.com Unveils New Licensing Policy

Article found here.

Wired.com is releasing its photos from a Creative Commons license, making them available to the public. There are only a few restrictions to using their images. They wished to be cited or credited for their work and you cannot use their images commercially. They even state explicitly that their content can be used in remixes and mashups. Pretty awesome of them!
